Calculator inputs

Every calculator on this site runs entirely in your browser. The figures you type — income, balances, filing status, savings — are never sent to our servers, because there is no server-side computation to send them to. They exist only in your browser's memory and in the page URL, and both disappear when you close the tab.

Shareable links

As you change an input, the page updates its own address bar so you can bookmark or share a filled-in calculation. That link contains your figures. Treat it as you would any document containing your financial details, and be careful where you paste it.

Server logs

Our web server keeps standard access logs — the page requested, a timestamp, your IP address and your browser's user-agent string — for security and diagnostics. These are not used to build a profile of you and are rotated on a routine schedule.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which calculators people find useful and where they arrive from. It sets its own cookies and records the pages you visit, your approximate location derived from your IP address, and general device information. It measures pages, not people: we do not use it to build a profile of you, and we do not upload any identifying information to it.

Crucially, the figures you type into a calculator are never sent to Google Analytics or anywhere else. Those stay in your browser, as described above. If you would rather not be measured at all, any browser-level tracking blocker or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on will stop it, and every calculator on this site continues to work normally with analytics blocked.

Third parties

Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers. Google Analytics, described above, is loaded from Google as well. Where advertising is displayed, the ad provider may set its own cookies under its own policy. No calculator input is ever shared with an advertiser, with Google, or with any other third party.
